Hermitage Public Library
A 28,800 SF branch library building serving a large suburban community of a major city. The structural system consists of steel framing with light-gauge steel roof trusses supporting an architectural standing seam metal roof over insulated nailbase sheathing and metal roof deck. Precast architectural trim accents the handsome brick veneer exterior as well as selected interior areas.
Large areas of green-tinted insulating glass flood the interior with pleasant natural light. A 70 foot tall tower frames an impressive entrance which includes an unusual trellised walkway. The overhead canopy is supported by brick columns with Alucabond trim. Interior features include bookstacks for 110,000 volumes, meeting rooms with folding panel partitions, tray ceilings and 3 kitchenette areas.
