Architect: Gobbell Hays Partners, Inc.

Major additions and renovations to the vehicular traffic and parking areas of a large metropolitan city airport terminal facility.  Arrival and departure ramps and bridges were doubled in width to provide more efficient traffic flow.  Enclosed pedestrian bridges were added to connect each major level of the terminal building with each level of the expanded parking garage.  New escalators and elevators help ensure smooth vertical traffic flow between all levels.

The original parking garage was expanded to accommodate 1,700 new spaces by doubling the size of the original footprint and adding a third level over the entire area.  The expanded facility includes a large glass skylight covered atrium, moving sidewalks and new elevators.  The primary structural system is cast-in-place concrete with post-tensioned beams and slabs.  Construction operations were carried out in the midst of the thousands of pedestrians and vehicles passing through the facility every day.
