Hardaway To Lead Construction For New Tennessee Veterans' Home in Montgomery County, TN
CLARKSVILLE, TN – The ceremonial groundbreaking for a long-awaited facility to serve the veterans in the community took place on Friday, May 17, 2013. Construction of the 108-bed facility is scheduled to begin in August, requiring 18 months to complete.
The new Montgomery County facility will be the fourth facility in the state, well located to serve one of the largest per-capita veteran’s populations in the nation. According to officials with Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes, there are 22,389 veterans in Montgomery County and 3,313 are over the age of 65.
Hardaway was awarded this project in October of 2012 by the State Building Commission and has been performing preconstruction services throughout the design phase with the project’s joint venture design team of HFR Design and Lyle Cook Martin Architects.
“I appreciate the passion of those who have labored tirelessly to make this project a reality for the veterans in the Montgomery County community and we are thrilled to be the construction manager for the facility,” remarked, President, Stan Hardaway.
